    Bhanu Bhakta Secondary School: Serving nation since 50 years

    It’s said that, an investment in knowledge pays the best interest and prepares the best for tomorrow. Education can be academic, home-schooling, or any outer skills that commits you to excellence. Different forms of education had been practiced in past and been repeatedly revolutionized. In the past, Gurukul was renowned for knowledge of Sanskrit, Veda, discipline, honesty, arms and shaping warriors. Later, a new mode of learning was introduced as schools, colleges, universities. However, with the transition and digitalization, the new era has changed modern learning with use of online tools and browsers.

    In context of Nepal, education was first introduced when late king Jung Bahadur Rana flew to England and saw the form of education they are following and realized power of language for communication. He established first school of Nepal as Durbar School in 1853, firstly prioritizing royal family, which later was opened for everyone. Now there are all total of 35,222 elementary and secondary schools, 1400 colleges, and 10 universities over the Nepal by 2019.

    With aim of building an educated society, Bhanu Bhakta Higher Secondary School is working constantly and is one of the leading school in their area. The school is located at Rampur 10, Palpa near Kaligandaki river and has been working since 2019 B.S. Area of school is around 3 hector and is covered with beautiful hills, homes and trees. Children’s resides around Adhambara, Nisardi, Manvaga, Bardale and travel about half or an hour-long way to school. Way to school is gravelled and is currently out of bus service, but aims for as much facilities as school can sustain. Other schools lie in Heklang with a range of about 2km and 10km far in Akeltar.

    Currently there are 22 staffs in school and provides educational assistant till grade 12. Basudev Pandey was the first principle of school and at present Prakash Subedi is holding the stand. At very starting point, this school was welcomed by locals with all their open hearts, so their children’s can step forward towards success and so has been done by school over past years.

    The school was closed for 4,5 months and now attendance of students and teachers has been seen in the school for 15 days. Tuition classes are open for preparation of final exam of class 12. Students who are close to the school are attending classes and students who are far from the school are taught as far as possible by the teacher’s near villages.

    On a constant run of race, school has succeeded and proved value of its presence. A healthy growth has inspired many students to provoke this school as their best choice, which handles a responsibility over school to meet all their expectations. At present, school has begun the construction for new building which opens many new opportunities and many new helping hands to nation.

    On celebration of 50 years golden jubilee, school constructed a pillar and named as “Gold Pillar” remarking all the golden moments of past years and in hope of celebrating over years again and again.

    School has built a Bhanu Bhakta shila inside a park as their pride that distinguish their importance among others. School has marked its value and earned honor for glorifying legend Bhanu Bhakta as our pride and stabilize value in instance of periods. Shila has been constructed with local support from parents, teachers and businessman and include all of their names in bright letters carved at shila. Yubraj Khanal took the first initiative for making shila in 2076 BS, Poush 15. This shila represents the glory of legend Bhanu Bhakta who is honoured with the title of Aadikavi (first poet of Nepal) and is also the first writer to translate epic Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali.

    Financially, the school is much stable and works for welfare of students, teachers and staffs. With fresh beginning of every year, school provides books and notes to their students from grade 1 to grade 10. Also, in this pandemic, school has insured teachers and staffs with amount of 1 lakh per person (i.e. corona insurance) in assistance with Everest insurance, Tansen.

    School provokes students to engage socially and help them to learn social manner and responsibilities. They conduct different events regarding student’s communication with different personalities, their active participation in school programs and on their learning behaviors. Some of recent events by schools are:

    • They organized an event to clean courtyard inside school premises, where students learn team work, importance of hygiene and nature, and motivates students not only socially rather they learn manners in everyday life.

    • School participated actively in the pandemic, prioritizing their education, and took classes on the banks of the Chautari river.

    • School distributed books and notes to students of grade 1 to grade 10 maintaining social distance at different possible locations as;
      • Students of Nisardi and Hosdi area from forest office.
      • Students of Rahudada from Rahudada playground.
      • Students of Admara and Siddhartha toll from Siddhartha pravi.
      • Students of Pansy and Bardale from +2 building of school.
    • School also has active participation in games and sports but doesn’t take part in any national games. They support equal participation of girls and boys in different games as, volleyball, football, cricket, basketball, running and many more. They also conduct brain games as chess, quiz sessions and different debate programs for mental growth of students.

    Along with education, school has also prioritized students in oratory programs, singing, dancing, sports, English speaking competition, quiz contest, weekly programs and PT periods as fun and health. In terms of infrastructure, school provides drinking water, toilets, well-organized classes, a computer lab and a library.

    There is well established communication between teachers and parents, so school can build a perfect collaboration, and understanding between them and student fluency towards education. They aim on building a qualified personality and focuses on social, mental and physical building of students and promote their skills from basic to advance. School offers free education to each student, as school has full support of government and government funds for all activities.

    Students love sharing their moments and are proud to be a family. Teachers are kind and generous to empower their students with morality, honor, and a well-qualified reputation in person. Students who have been part of Bhanu Bhakta, expressed their feelings of how proud they are to be in a position to stand alone and admire the support for always encouraging and empowering their strength to the fullest.
